Margarita LaFarelle Hunt

Margarita LaFarelle Hunt was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Her Papi, Dr. Lorenzo G. LaFarelle PHD and her Mama, Margarita, were very involved in the community. She witnessed it growing up. They taught her, her two brothers and sister the importance of education. Especially if you want a good job and if you want to be the voice for the voiceless. Margarita grew up in strict catholic family. They also taught their children the importance of religion (God), knowing their Hispanic culture, giving back to the community and to be proud to be an American.
Margarita and Dean have been married for 46 years. They have one child, Anthony Dean Hunt (Tony). Tony is married to Adrian. They have four children. Her family has lived in Wichita, Kansas for 46 years.
Margarita has three Degrees: 1980 Associate’s in Early Childhood Education, Brookhaven University in Dallas, Texas; 1990 Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Newman University in Wichita, Kansas ; and a 2001 Master’s in HR Organization/Development, Friends University in Wichita, Kansas
Margarita has been very involved in the Wichita and Sedgwick communities since 1986. One of her first accomplishments in the community was, she led a group of 7 professional Hispanics and developed and implemented Hispanic Awareness Council, (HAC). She led the organization to develop and implement Hispanic Heritage Month in the State of Kansas.

She has been a Republican for 40+ years. She believes what the Republican Party stands for; Government for the people (GOP), God, Country and Family. She has been involved by knocking at doors to promote Republican candidates, fundraisers for candidates and getting voter registration sights set up.
