Donna McGinty

Public Biography

Donna McGinty was born the middle of eleven children in rural Iowa, Donna learned the value of hard work and became an adept problem solver.  After earning her BA in education at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, she pursued her career teaching Title I and Physical Education in rural Bern, Kansas.  After a successful seven years, she was accepted at Washburn University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor.
  
Donna met and married her husband Chris and together they raised two sons.  She now also has one daughter-in-law, and recently welcomed her first grandchild.  After their sons were of school age, she returned to the classroom for twenty-three years.  Additionally, she provides office assistance for her husband’s small business.  In the spring of 2021, she ran for the Board of Education seat in Seaman USD 345 in Topeka, where she is now in her third year of service. 

In May 2024, Mrs. McGinty finished her career in the classroom after nineteen years teaching Math at Eisenhower Middle School, Topeka USD 501.  A member of Light of the World Christian Center, her love for and faith in Jesus is the driving force in her life.  She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, sewing, and hiking.
