Name | Cynthia Shelden |
Public Biography | Cynthia Shelden is the wife of Stan Shelden of Shelden Architecture, mom to five wonderful daughters (and three sons-in-law), and grandma to three sweet grandkids. After traveling the world with her parents (she is an “army brat”), she attended Kansas State University where she met her husband. They started their life together in Chicago where Cynthia completed her Master’s in Education. She taught professionally, and then when she became a mom, she decided to teach her own children, home educating for almost 25 years. Now that she is “retired,” she enjoys volunteering at her church, tutoring dyslexic children, costuming for her teacher daughter’s school plays, hosting dinner guests, homemaking, weight lifting, and keeping up with politics and philosophy through voracious listening to audiobooks and podcasts. Cynthia is passionate about education, particularly for students with reading disabilities, and she looks forward to learning about all the issues affecting her fellow Kansans as well as getting to know her Eisenhower classmates. |
